Affordable Real Estate in Deerfield is also Safe and Beautiful

July 31st, 2008

I was living in Chicago, IL when I had a very scary experience. I was on my way home from showing some Chicago commercial real estate to a potential buyer. It was a bit after five but it was during the summer so I decided to walk. There was plenty of daylight and I was in a good part of town, so it was completely unexpected when I was pulled into an alley and robbed. That’s when I decided to move to Deerfield.

Deerfield is not only a gorgeous town; it is one of the safest places to live in the US. The crime rate is five times below the national average. The rate of violent crime is practically non-existent, and there hasn’t been a murder in the past ten years. The town of Deerfield has such confidence in their safety, that they employ a third less law enforcement officials than the national average.

Deerfield was everything I imagined it would be. I was able to find a nice home right away. Deerfield real estate is not only beautiful, it is also affordable. I was also able to find a job in the field almost right away, because Deerfield’s real estate market is very strong. The job I found is only half a mile from my home, and on warm days I usually walk there. It is a great feeling to walk somewhere without the fear of anything bad happening.

While I was never afraid to walk around in Chicago, I was aware that the risk of crime was high. It is nice to know that I live in a town where the crime rate is significantly lower than in a bigger city, without having to have given up city-style living. Because Deerfield is rapidly developing, living here is the best of both worlds.

Deerfield, Il is A Great Place for Families

July 23rd, 2008

I was selling real estate in Chicago when I made the decision to move to nearby Deerfield. My career was going well, but the Chicago lifestyle can tend to be a bit hectic, especially for children. I have three, my oldest girl just turned fifteen, my son is ten, and my little one is just six. Deerfield is a charming town, with plenty of gorgeous real estate. The market is strong there, so I would have no problems getting a job or finding a house. I was ready to settle down somewhere that was quiet, clean and safe, but at the same time showed promise.

My main concern with Deerfield was the school system. I didn’t know very much about it, and I wanted to make sure it was above average. In Chicago, my youngest two were in private school, and my oldest was in public school against my wishes but at her insistence. I wanted to make sure that Deerfield offered the same high quality education that is available in a larger city.

Before I purchased my Deerfield home I did a little digging and I was pleasantly surprised at my findings. I was able to find a Montessori school for my youngest, which is where she was enrolled in Chicago. For my boy, I found a public school that was up to par and was close to our home. I was a bit worried about keeping my oldest in public school until I learned that Deerfield’s high schools are high quality. I enrolled her at Deerfield High School; which has a 99 percent graduation rate and is rated among the top 1000 schools in the nation.

I am very happy with the choice I made. The kids love their schools and I love my Deerfield property, which I got a marvelous deal on.

Affordable Real Estate and Vast Public Transportation Options Makes Deerfield A Great Place to Live

July 5th, 2008

Transportation is one of the first things people consider when looking to purchase real estate in a certain area. Gas prices aren’t getting lower and public transportation is becoming more popular because it is cheaper. In some cases, public transportation is also more convenient. Most residents in Deerfield rely on their automobiles for transport, but there are several public transport options available.

The suburban bus service, PACE has four bus routes, as well as three shuttle routes in Deerfield, and although they don’t transport a large volume of residents, it is still cheaper and better for the environment than each person driving a car. If you prefer to use public transport you might want to talk to your real estate agent in Deerfield about finding housing near one of the bus routes.

Also, there are two Metra stations located in Deerfield which travel within the city and to surrounding towns. While it may be possible to rely solely on public transportation to get around the city, it is probably ideal to make use of public transportation in combination with private transportation. Deerfield, IL Diversity Grows

June 28th, 2008

It has been proven that diversity is good for the economy. A difference in race and cultures tends to foster economic growth. Although Deerfield, IL, and most other surrounding suburbs haven’t always been diverse, this has changed in the past several years.

As America becomes flooded with an influx of immigrants, even smaller cities are being inhabited up with immigrants. It is not just the bigger cities anymore that are benefiting from immigrants. Deerfield is more diverse than it has ever been and it is sure to reap the social and economic benefits. With new ethnicities and cultures come new shops, new restaurants, and new types of entertainment.

It has never been a better time to live in the suburbs. Although Deerfield is predominantly white, it is well on its way to being a well-integrated community. It is only a matter of time before Deerfield is as diverse as Chicago and other big cities. Because Deerfield is expanding, there is a lot of new housing. Deerfield Housing is Available to Everyone

June 20th, 2008

One common misconception that people have about the suburbs is that it is impossible to live there if you are not wealthy. It is true that the Deerfield is an affluent city, but there are still many residents at different points of the socio-economic spectrum.

There are many high priced, large, luxurious homes, but there are also plenty of smaller houses, condos, and apartments.

It is even possible to own a small to mid-sized home in close proximity to the large homes. Many people don’t realize that the kind of lifestyle they are after is often more accessible than they think. When I first started evaluating Deerfield homes I was surprised to learn about the diversity of price ranges in a small area. One block might be filled with million dollar homes, and a half mile away you will find homes for a fraction of the price.

Before you decide that the house and the area that you want to live in are out of your financial range, do some research. There are plenty of resources to help you find the home that you want.

Summer Officially Comes to Deerfield

June 20th, 2008

Yesterday was the first Thursday evening concert in Red Star Plaza in and that means that summer has officially started. The summer-long outdoor music series is sponsored by Deerfield’s Village Music Store. The 1940’s swing band was fun but I can’t wait until next weeks performances from pre-teen rockers The Bad Boyz and live karaoke by Gotcha Covered. Rock On Deerfield!
